This chapter has provided a guided tour of new module definition in two parts. In the first part, we illustrated how you could add a new module called hackyDoc_NewModule to your existing configuration. In the second part, we provided a brief overview of the contents of this module to illustrate its internal structure and required components. We provided tips on how you might use the hackyDoc_NewModule as a template for definition of your own custom modules.
We recognize that this chapter did not cover the specific details of defining Hackystat commands, sensors, sensor data types, and docbook chapters. Instead, this chapter focused on the more general module-level structures. The following chapters will build on this foundation to delve into the details of these Hackystat facilities.
