Now that a Project for StackyHack is defined, many analyses are possible. To begin, let's look at the Daily Diary, which provides a detailed breakdown of events during the day at the grain size of five minute intervals. Figure 4.32, “ Daily Diary with StackyHack work ” illustrates the Daily Diary for one day that included work on the StackyHack project.
The Daily Diary splits the day up into five minute intervals. The column selector allows you to specify what kind of data you wish to see during each interval. In this analysis, we are displaying for each five minute interval: the total number of events received from the Activity sensor and the DevEvent sensor; the types of DevEvents received; the Most Active File (i.e. the file with the most statechange events);, the Project(s) associated with that Most Active File; and the Workspace associated with the Most Active File.
The Daily Diary analysis can potentially be useful if you need to remember what you were working on at some point in the past. Usually, however, the Daily Diary is useful only as a form of sensor data validation: it helps you check whether or not your sensors are sending data, and whether you have set up your Workspace roots and Project definitions correctly.
